Shelter Them believes that education is the most important advantage children can acquire to enable them to achieve an independent, sustainable and productive future. We support the educational needs of all the children in our care, beginning with preschool, through primary and secondary education, and even to college or university. We believe that every child has the right, through education, to achieve to the very best of their abilities.
We also believe that in order to achieve to their very best, children need a stable family life. So Shelter Them provides family support through a variety of programs offered by our staff in Rwanda.
Third, we believe in the principle of the African proverb which states that it takes a village to raise a child. So Shelter Them engages in community development to encourage and create opportunities for parents to acquire skills that will enable them to build an independent and sustainable future for themselves and their children.
