Medical Insurance

Initiated by the Rwandan Government in 2004, Community Based Health Insurance (CBHI) was implemented to improve access to health care for the poorest and most vulnerable segments of the population. With free health insurance, Shelter Them supports nearly 500 vulnerable people to access to this CBHI on annual basis. This has helped these families to have access to medical care easily and has reduced tremendously the sickness among children. Shelter Them will continue to support its beneficiaries with CBHI and will look to help more vulnerable communities in order to reduce infant mortality rate in poor communities.
